Contractor to Build Autonomous Sienna

Feb. 12, 2021—Aurora, a self-driving technology firm, partnered with Toyota and Denso, and automotive manufacturer, to build a fleet of autonomous taxis. 

According to PC magazine, the first batch of autonomous vehicles will be based on Toyota's Sienna minivan. 

"Toyota has an unparalleled legacy, engineering expertise, leadership, and ability to deliver high-quality, affordable, and reliable vehicles," Chris Urmson, CEO of Aurora said. "They're also the preferred vehicle brand for transporting riders on ride-hailing networks, so we're excited and honored to work with them to unlock driverless mobility services with the Aurora Driver."
