Feb. 14, 2020—The coronavirus in China could have an impact on the production of electric vehicles, reported Michigan Radio.

Factories like Tesla's assembly plant in Shanghai was closed but has reopened. Other factories do remain closed.

Since China produces a lot of the electric batteries that go into electric cars, the Lansing-based Anderson Economic Group predicts one of the hardest hit parts of the industry will be electric vehicle production.

Production could also be delayed because of the materials that go into making the batteries, materials including cobalt.
