Jan. 26, 2021—Volkswagen has been ordered to pay nearly $20 million in compensation to the people in Spain who bought vehicles with emissions-cheating devices installed.

Ordered by a Spanish court, Volkswagen will appeal the ruling, reports AutoBlog.

In 2015, the automaker admitted to cheating U.S. diesel engine tests using illegal software, and costing more than $30 billion.
