Jan. 22, 2021—The Porsche Taycan has jumped from an EPA-estimated driving range of 203 miles in 2020, to 227 miles this year, leaving many scratching their heads as to how

The culprit? Porsche did not use the 21-inch tires during the EPA calculation, opting for the more popular 19-inch and 20-inch wheels.

According to Electrek, the 20-inch wheels make the Taycan over 10 percent more efficient, adding to the driving range. The 19-inch wheels are even more efficient, according to the article.
