Jan. 5, 2021—In Norway, more electric cars were sold in 2020 than vehicles powered by petrol, diesel and hybrid engines.

According to Reuters, Volkswagen was the top selling brand for battery electric vehicles, replacing Tesla.

Battery electric vehicles made up 54 percent of all new cars sold in 2020, a global record. Norway hopes to be the first nation to end the sale of petrol and diesel cars by 2025.
