Toyota Teases Solid-State Battery

Dec. 22, 2020—Toyota will debut its solid-state battery prototype as soon as 2021. 

According to AutoBlog, solid-state batteries are more compact, charge faster and safer, and process more energy density than the traditional lithium-ion batteries. Rumor has it a solid-state battery could give a vehicle a range of over 600 miles and take only 10 minutes to charge. 

Toyota is leading the charge for solid-state batteries with more than 1,000 patents related to the technology.
