"Smart Village" Coming to New Zealand

Nov. 11, 2020—Residents of Paerata Rise, Auckland will be the first to live in a "Smart Village," with a private autonomous shuttle network at their fingertips.
According to a press release, the system will provide on-demand transport via a smart phone app for the residents.
Chris Johnston, executive director for Paerata Rise said in a press release, "Our goal is to be one of the most desirable places to live in Auckland and becoming a Smart Village is an extension of this. It means we are able to offer the utmost connection to our residents through a private network, and the most cutting-edge technologies."
Currently in test stages, the network and its technology plan to go live in 2021.
