Sept. 28, 2020—Mercedes-Benz most recent concept car, VISION AVTR, looks like something out of a movie. In fact, the prototype was inspired by the film Avatar, and given its futuristic aesthetic, it is safe to say Mercedes-Benz was not far off the mark.

The electric vehicle that will most likely never make it to production, is controlled by a pulsating sensor in the center console. The wheels of the car, that look more similar to an animal's paws, can even "crab walk" side to side.

"We didn't want to create a vehicle, we wanted to create something like a living organism," said Gordon Wegener, Chief Design Officer for Daimler, in the newly released video

While vehicles such as this may never make it to production, they do serve as inspiration as to what the future could hold for drivers, engineers, and technophiles everywhere.
