Sept. 24, 2020—Volkswagen has introduced its first battery-electric vehicle, the ID 4.

The crossover SUV boasts a 250-mile driving range and is rumored to have a price tag around $40,000.

In an interview with The Verge, VW North America CEO, Scott Keogh says the release of the ID 4 electric vehicle would not have come so quickly had it not been for Dieselgate, which occurred just five years ago.

You can reserve your ID 4 today, and deliveries are expected to be carried out by the first quarter of 2021.
