Sept.  8, 2020—Two weeks from today, Tesla is expected to unveil all sorts of new technologies on what has been dubbed, "Battery Day," but for most of us, it's just Sept. 22. Tesla founder Elon Musk has been dropping hints about a million-mile electric battery since earlier this year and Tesla owners are anxiously awaiting to see which of them are true.

According to Tech Times, in order to create a battery that would last for a million miles, the manufacturer would have to switch from lithium-ion to lithium-ion phosphate (LFP) battery technology. The biggest change would be the price point. Lithium-ion batteries contributed heavily to the price of Tesla vehicles, but the lithium-ion phosphate is much cheaper and could result in a price drop.

With only two weeks left until Battery Day, rumors will continue to run amuck about the latest technology and Tweets from Tesla. Regardless of what is announced, Sept. 22 will be a big day for the EV industry.
