Aug. 14, 2020—California-based automaker, Hyperion, has unveiled their latest supercar, the hydrogen-powered Hyperion XP-1.

Hyperion says the supercar will be able to drive up to 1,000 miles on a single tank of compressed hydrogen gas and its electric motors supply more than 1,000 horsepower.

The all-wheel drive vehicle can reach 60 miles per hour in just over two seconds, reports CNN. The car is lightweight and takes around three minutes to fuel versus electric vehicles which have longer charge times.

The company says the real mission of this release is to generate more interest in hydrogen-based vehicles across the industry.
