Tarform's Electric Motorcycle Sees Green

Order Reprints

Aug. 10, 2020—Tarform builds electric motorcycles that are recyclable and made from all natural, biodegradable materials.

Tarform's vegan leather seats are crafted from pineapple, mango, corn, and other naturally derived fibers. Its side panels, which are usually made out of durable plastic are made from flaxseed. Even the hue of the bike was made sustainably, using the dye from algae instead of toxic paints. The aluminum frame of the bike is recyclable and the battery pack is designed to evolve as technology improves.

The first edition of the green motorcycle, a customizable Founder Edition, will be available later this year starting at $42,000. The standard Tarform Luna will go into production next year and is projected to cost around $24,000, reports the Baltimore Sun.
