Mercedes-Benz Partners with Chinese Battery Titan

Aug. 7, 2020—Chinese battery manufacturer, CATL, partners with Mercedes-Benz to supply batteries for the highly-anticipated EQS electric car. According to Mercedes-Benz, the vehicle will have two electric motors, making it an all-wheel drive vehicle.
The two companies announced that they have entered “the next stage of their strategic partnership and will create cutting-edge battery technology in support of the high-volume electrification of the Mercedes-Benz model portfolio,” reports Electrek.
The luxurious, eco-friendly EV is rumored to cost upwards of $96,000 and boasts a driving range of 435 miles. The 2021 model does not have a release date yet.
