Aug. 3, 2020—General Motors and EVgo hope to integrate electric vehicles into untapped markets by implementing fast chargers across the nation. The aim is to add chargers in highly-trafficked areas such as grocery stores and retail outlets to make charging more convenient for EV drivers.

The two companies plan to triple the size of the nation's current largest public fast charging network by adding more than 2,700 new fast chargers. The charges will be added to cities and suburbs in an attempt to make electric vehicles more accessible for those who do not own their homes or cannot install their own home-charger.

The increase will take place over the next five years, reports General Motors
