July 20, 2020—According to a Volkswagen press release, the 2020 Passat has been redesigned to include a new lineup of standard driver assistance features.

Every Passat comes outfitted with Forward Collision Warning and Autonomous Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Monitoring. The leading cause of death for individuals between the ages of five and 29 is traffic-related injuries, according to a contributed piece in Forbes.

The new Passat's safety features hope to minimize injuries with other features that are now standard like automatic braking assist, blind spot monitor, and lane assist.
