Bosch's New Crash Detection Service Could Save Lives

July 15, 2020—Bosch launched a new emergency alert system, called Help Connect, that specifically caters to motorcyclists. According to Bosch, the risk of being killed in a crash is 20 times higher for motorcyclists than car drivers.
The system is dictated by an inertial sensor and an integrated algorithm which aims to distinguish a crash from a simple tipping over of the bike. Once the information is transmitted, those at Bosch can assess the severity of the crash and send the necessary aids, reports Engadet.
Help Connect will initially be available in Germany, where Bosch was founded, but the company has plans of expanding to other markets.
