May 21, 2020—Cruise has principal AV security architect Chris Miller and senior security manager Chris Valasek sit down with former Mythbusters host and technology fanatic Kari Byron to discuss the company’s security measures, according to GM Authority.

General Motors subsidiary Cruise is preparing to launch its Cruise Origin driverless taxi in a couple of years.

Miller and Valasek were able to previously hack into a Jeep. However, because the Cruise vehicle is made up of multiple computers, it is safer. The designers were able to separate the computers that control navigation for instance, from the computer that actually controls the car, protecting it from the hacker.
