Waymo Resumes Self-Driving Testing in Ariz.

May 11, 2020—Waymo resumed limited driving tests in Phoenix, Ariz., reported VentureBeat.

The restart is part of a tiered approach to resume its fleet operations.

Waymo employees will wear face masks in facilities and vehicles, except when driving alone. The company also says in the report it has deep-cleaned its buildings and that it will continue to conduct multiple daily cleanings of its vehicles in partnership with AutoNation.

Uber, General Motor's Cruise, Aurora, Argo AI and Pony.ai are are other autonomous vehicle companies that have suspended their driverless vehicle programs during the coronavirus shutdowns.
