Tesla Works on Pay As You Go Subscription

Order Reprints

May 1, 2020—Tesla is working on a pay-as-you-go subscription for its "Full Self-Driving Capability" package, reported Electrek.

Tesla started to pre-sell its "Full Self-Driving Capability" package in its vehicles years before it planned to make the technology available through the software—a move that has been criticised for confusing customers into thinking Tesla vehicles are fully autonomous which is not the case.

Currently, Tesla sells its “Full Self-Driving Capability” package for $7,000. Tesla's goal was to increase the price as it introduced new features.

The new pay-as-you-go subscription would be less expensive.
