Hyundai Recalls Vehicles with Remote Smart Parking Assist

April 20, 2020—Hyundai is recalling 2020 vehicles to fix an issue with its Remote Smart Parking Assist feature, reported Consumer ReportsThe feature is available on 2020 Hyundai Sonata Limited and 2020 Hyundai Neo vehicles. 

When operating properly, the assist feature can move a car backward and forward into or out of a perpendicular parking space with minor steering adjustments. This can work even when there is no driver in the car.

In certain cases, the feature's fail safe that stops the car from moving if it detects a fault or error from its sensors may not engage. The car could keep moving, according to the report.
