EV Vehicle Launch Delayed Due to COVID-19 Virus
April 9, 2020—The Rivian R1T pickup is delayed until 2021 due to the COVID-19 virus, reported CNET. Production was originally scheduled to begin in 2020 with vehicle deliveries shortly thereafter.
Rivian previously announced last month that it would suspend operations at its facility in Normal, Ill.
Rivian received investments from Amazon and Ford for its electric vehicle platform. It's platform will be lent for a Lincoln vehicle and it has a purpose-built electric Amazon delivery van in the works.
