April 2, 2020—Honda has moved away from touchscreen controls in its new Jazz hatchback car after reports of touchscreen dashboards creating more distractions for the driver, a contributor wrote in ForbesThe Jazz is the overseas nameplate for the Honda Fit.

The current-generation Jazz in addition to the touchscreen infotainment system, uses touchscreens for its heating and air-conditioning controls. The 2020 Jazz vehicle reinstates physical climate controls.

According to the report, the move helps minimize driver disruption. Other automakers, like Jaguar Land Rover, have found somewhat of a solution with a touchscreen display that features two rotating dials on top, whose functionality changes based on what is tapped, and can be rotated without looking.
