Dec. 8, 2022—General Motors is targeting rural areas to set up a network of 40,000 chargers.

CNN reports that the chargers will be level 2 models, meaning they aren't the fastest available. But it is a move to build out electric vehicle infrastructure in areas that are historically neglected. CNN estimates that there are already 43,000 or so of these charging stations in the United States.

Dealers will need to sign on to add the charging stations. So far, 1,000 have agreed to do so.
