Lordstown Motors Plans Customer Delivery of EV Trucks
Dec. 5, 2022—Lordstown Motor could soon deliver the first of its electric trucks to customers, according to Kelley Blue Book.
The startup has obtained EPA and California Air Resources Board certifications for its full-size Endurance truck. Kelley Blue Book reports that Lordstown has made the following statement:
“The first units, of our initial batch of 500, are leaving the Foxconn EV Ohio plant for customer delivery.”
The Endurance has four electric motors and an approximated range of 200 miles. It is also a finalist for the 2023 World Truck of the Year Awards. Getting this truck to customers is a big deal for the startup, seeing as it nearly went bankrupt in 2021. Lordstown sold its manufacturing facility to Foxconn earlier this year, and the electronics maker contracted the work required to build the Endurance.
