Dec. 1, 2022—Tailgate use might affect the rearview camera in certain Honda Ridgeline models, according to a new recall.

Consumer Reports says that some Ridgelines from 2017 to 2019 are affected in the recall. Around 117,000 total vehicles are believed to be involved. Use of the tailgate might break a wiring harness that supports the camera.

Consumer Reports notes that the camera is not just a convenient feature. It is part of the safety function to avoid backup hits and injuries.
