Nov. 8, 2022—Montgomery County in Maryland is helping electric vehicle drivers to have more access to vehicle charging stations.

According to Fox 5 DC, around 18,000 residents in the county drive electric vehicles. However, many of those drivers do not have charging access at home.

Andy Fraser is a resident of Kensington, and he spoke to the county about an idea to help drivers apply for curbside charging permits. County officials agreed with this idea, and six residents have signed up for the curbside charging stations so far.

County officials believe that more will sign up as EV ownership goes up. Fraser even pointed out that one time, someone came to his door to ask if they could use the charging station and he was glad to let them do so.
