Oct. 12, 2022—Polestar has announced that it should be able to stay on schedule for delivering 50,000 electric vehicles in 2022.

According to CNBC, the Swedish electric vehicle maker delivered 9,215 vehicles in the third quarter of 2022. Its total for the year so far sits at around 30,400. The automaker remains optimistic because its factory has resumed full production after it was shut down for the first half of 2022 amid COVID-19 related lockdowns.

Geely is a Chinese automaker and corporate parent to Polestar. Geely's factory in Luqiao had to shut down during early 2022 due to government-mandated lockdowns regarding COVID-19 concerns. That factory is responsible for the Polestar 2 crossover and other Geely brand vehicles, according to CNBC.

Polestar CEO Thomas Ingenlath said Polestar has begun shipping cars that it anticipates to deliver by the end of 2022.
