Sept. 14, 2022—President Biden will visit the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan today.

According to UPI, the president left Washington D.C. this morning and was scheduled to arrive in Detroit at around 10:30 a.m. He is set to speak at Detroit's Huntington Place Convention Center at 1:45 p.m. EDT.

The president is expected to announce the approval of $900 million in federal funding to build EV chargers in 35 states. This plan will be funded by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. This law allots $7.5 billion toward a network of 500,000 EV charging stations across the country, as reported by UPI. Additionally, it puts $17 billion toward EV battery production as well as clean transit and school buses.
