Aug. 18, 2022—Volvo Cars earlier this month announced a partnership with Starbucks Corporation to install up to 60 EV chargers at Starbucks locations throughout the northwest U.S.

According to a Volvo news release, the first four chargers were installed at a Starbucks in Provo, Utah, and are scheduled to become active later this month. The rest of the chargers will be installed along a 1,350 mile route from Colorado to Starbucks' headquarters in Seattle.

“Public EV charging should be as easy as getting a great cup of coffee – and now, it can be,” Starbucks executive Michael Kobori said. “We look forward to continuing this partnership with Volvo and ChargePoint, exploring new ways to enhance the Starbucks Experience and inviting customers on our journey to become a resource positive company.”

The chargers will be installed every 100 miles or so along the route, which the companies say will provide "much-needed infrastructure" for drivers facing range anxiety.

“Partnerships like this are hugely important as we continue to move towards a more sustainable, electrified future," Volvo Car USA executive Anders Gustafsson said. "Together with Starbucks and ChargePoint, we are creating an EV charging network that can fit seamlessly into everyday life."
