Rivian Nearly Doubles Production in Q2 to 4.4K Units
July 7, 2022—Rivian announced on Wednesday it had produced 4,401 electric vehicles through Q2, a significant increase from the previous quarter.
According to a report from Electrek, the automaker's output nearly doubled in the second quarter, a sign that ongoing supply chain issues could be letting up.
Supply chain and production are ramping! We just announced production of 4,401 vehicles for Q2 bringing our cumulative total since start of production to 7,969 — keeping us on track to reach our year-end goals. Thank you to our team & suppliers.— RJ Scaringe (@RJScaringe) July 6, 2022
In total, Rivian has produced 7,969 vehicles since late last year. Per the report, the R1T electric pickup is assumed to make up the vast majority of those sales, though a definitive answer is not available since Rivian does not provide a model breakdown with its sales numbers.
Though it would need a significant boost through the second half of the year, Rivian President RJ Scaringe says the company is still well on its way to achieving its year-end goal of producing 25,000 vehicles.
