June 29, 2022—Volkswagen earlier this month debuted the ID.Aero, a concept mid-size electric sedan that will soon be in production.

According to a report from Car and Driver, the ID.Aero is intended to be the replacement for the outgoing ICE-powered Passat. Built on the same platform as VW's other two all-electric offerings, the ID.4 and ID.Buzz, the ID.Aero's body styling is a combination of next-generation EVs with familiar four-door traits.

The vehicle, as its name would imply, is incredibly aerodynamic -- VW claims it has a drag coefficient of 0.23. That will help with range, which the automaker says will be near 400 miles.

No interior photos have been provided, and the automaker has not said when the vehicle will enter production.
