June 14, 2022—The Drive reports on Stellantis' live testing of an electric vehicle that gets a wireless charge.

The technology is called wireless inductive charging, and the testing was done on an electric Fiat 500 in Italy. Testers drove the vehicle at highway speeds without using the battery pack at all. Coils beneath the pavement sends power directly to the electric motor to give it juice.

Stellantis has plans for more testing using more vehicle models, including the Maserati Gracale Folgore, reports The Drive.
