May 26, 2022—Autonomous vehicle startup on Tuesday lost its license to test driverless vehicles in the state of California.

According to a report from TechCrunch, the California DMV said it revoked's license due to a failure to monitor the driving records of its safety drivers. The company had 71 drivers and 41 test vehicles on its permit.

“While reviewing’s application to renew the testing permit, the DMV found numerous violations on the driving records of active safety drivers,” a spokesperson for the DMV told TechCrunch. “Because of the critical role of safety drivers to facilitate the safe testing of autonomous technology and the need for these drivers to have a clean driving record as established by the DMV’s autonomous vehicle regulations, the DMV is revoking the permit, effective immediately.” no longer has any testing permits in the state after it lost its driverless testing license late last year.
