AV Companies Suspend Testing
March 18, 2020—Self-driving car companies are suspending testing that includes back-up drivers, reported Reuters.
Companies include Waymo, Cruise and Uber.
Waymo said it will continue fully automated services in Phoenix, Ariz. Cruise has suspended all operations and closed its San Francisco facilities for three weeks. Argo, a Ford company, has suspended its vehicle testing operations.
Toyota-backed Pony.ai said it had paused its public robotaxi service in Fremont and Irvine, California for three weeks, but the company is testing cars in the Chinese cities of Beijing and Guangzhou.
