Hyundai to Bring EV Plant to US, in Talks with Georgia

May 10, 2022—Hyundai is planning to build an EV manufacturing in the U.S. and has already engaged in talks with officials in Georgia.
According to an exclusive report from Reuters, Hyundai "confirmed an imminent plan" for a new EV facility but did not provide any more information beyond that.
"We are excited to announce a new EV plant plan in the United States soon, but we do not have details to share at this stage," Hyundai said in a statement to Reuters.
Hyundai Motor Group already has two existing facilities in Georgia, and according to the report, people familiar with the plan say the new EV plant could be near those two if it receives approval from state officials.
The new facility will produce both Hyundai and Kia electric vehicles aimed at the U.S. market.
