April 18, 2022—Kia on Wednesday unveiled its new Niro hybrid and EV crossover lineup.

The Niro nameplate includes BEV, PHEV and hybrid options, which according to a report from CNBC have been redesigned to include "additional safety and convenience features."

“Kia’s electrified vehicle momentum continues with the launch of the all-new second-generation Niro, which offers more refinement, versatility, connectivity, and technology than ever,” Kia America executive Steven Center said in a statement. “The 2023 Niro was designed for today’s needs and for sustainable future mobility.”

The Niro hybrid is expected to have a driving range just under 600 miles, while its full electric variant will have a light but somewhat respectable 253 miles of range.
