April 13, 2022—Toyota on Tuesday officially unveiled the bZ4X, the automaker's first fully electric vehicle in almost a decade.

The bZ4X will start at $42,000 for the 2023 model year according to a news release, and it will sport an EPA-estimated 252 miles of range on a single charge. The automaker says the bZ4X has a five-year estimated fuel cost savings up to $5,000 when compared to an average new ICE vehicle.

The bZ4X is the first vehicle from Toyota to launch under its bZ series, which the automaker says " was developed with human-centricity at the heart, meaning it hopes to provide more than a mobility solution but also an innovative space for customers."

Toyota plans to have around 70 electric models offered around the globe within the next three years, including 15 battery electric vehicles, seven of which will sport the bZ moniker.
