GM Launches Online Parts Market

Jan. 21, 2021—General Motors has launched an online marketplace for first-party car parts.

According to a report from the Detroit Free Press, the online system is one of many as GM makes an effort to improve its digital offerings; the automaker recently announced plans to launch an online certified used car marketplace.

“Our premium parts are engineered with exceptional quality to provide assurance to our customers," John Roth, GM's customer care and aftersales global vice president, said in a statement. "The launch of this trusted online sales channel extends that peace of mind to the parts-buying experience.”

More than 45,000 parts, including everything from filters and batteries to accessory belts and brake pads for all GM brands will be available to purchase. The website was live as of Tuesday per the report, and each GM brand has its own parts market in addition to the main GM website.

GM also has a rewards program, and any purchase made through a parts marketplace will add points to that program.
