March 9, 2020—Waymo has unveiled Driver, its software and hardware combo for self-driving cars, reported Digital Trends.

The 360 liDAR system can see a car door opening a city block away and spot road debris hundreds of meters ahead on the highway. The short-range perimeter liDAR helps detect nearby objects and navigate tight city gaps in traffic.

Waymo's technology will be equipped in Jaguar I-Pace autonomous cars and self-driving fleet of Chrysler Pacifica minivans. The minivans are used for a ridesharing service in Arizona to test the technology.

Check out the top eight car advancements featured earlier this year at the 2020 CES Show.
