Dec. 27, 2021—Tesla late last week agreed to stop allowing video games to be played on its center touch screens while a vehicle is in motion.

The move comes as pressure from U.S. auto safety regulators, namely the NHTSA, continued to mount over the last several weeks, according to a report from The Detroit News.

Several complaints were filed earlier this month to the NHTSA by Tesla drivers. Tesla announced it would send out a software update that will lock games while vehicles are moving a day after the NHTSA said it would open a formal investigation into those distracted driving complaints.

The software update is currently available for all Teslas. The NHTSA's investigation will continue despite the update.
