Texas County Mulling All-EV Fleet

Oct. 20, 2021—Officials in Travis County, Texas, are currently in the process of transitioning to an all-electric fleet.
The county, which houses the city of Austin, is "currently evaluating potential charging station locations" and weighing employee concerns and feedback about driving electric vehicles, according to a report from KXAN. The county commission adopted a resolution in June to create an EV fleet plan, and on Tuesday it discussed a potential timeline.
Travis County Fleet Director Charles Schoenfeld said 300 county fleet vehicles have been identified as potential candidates for replacement by EVs. County officials will submit budget requests to the commission later this spring.
