Tech Company ABB Launches 'World's Fastest' EV Charger

Oct. 1, 2021—ABB, a Swedish/Swiss multinational tech company, has launched a new EV charger that it claims can fully charge vehicles in 15 minutes.
The Terra 360 modular charger is geared more toward business clients such as gas stations or repair shops, and ABB says it can charge four vehicles at once and deliver a charge of about 62 miles in under three minutes per a report from Reuters.
"With governments around the world writing public policy that favours electric vehicles and charging networks to combat climate change, the demand for EV charging infrastructure, especially charging stations that are fast, convenient and easy to operate, is higher than ever," said Frank Muehlon, president of ABB's E-mobility Division.
A press release from ABB describes the charger as "ideal for refueling stations, urban charging stations, retail parking and fleet applications."
ABB plans to make its Terra 360 chargers available in the US and other regions outside of Europe at some point in 2022.
