Jeep Reveals Plug-In Hybrid Grand Cherokee

Sept. 30, 2021—Jeep on Wednesday unveiled a plug-in hybrid version of its flagship Jeep Grand Cherokee.
The Grand Cherokee 4xe will join the Wrangler as the first two plug-in hybrids available from the brand in the U.S., according to a report from the Detroit Free Press. Electric versions of the Compass and Renegade are already available in Europe.
“This is another important step toward achieving our global vision of zero emission freedom,” said Jeep Brand CEO Christian Meunier. “By 2025, we plan to offer a fully electric Jeep vehicle in every SUV segment.”
The announcement of the electrified Jeep is the latest from parent company Stellantis, which invested $35 billion earlier this year into its electrification efforts.
