Tesla Autopilot to be Reworked Soon

March 2, 2020—A core rewrite of Tesla's Autopilot system is coming soon, reported Electrek.

The rewrite will include a more in-depth labeling system and be able to release more functionality faster.

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, reportedly said that the new labeling capacity will let Autopilot detect potholes and make mini-maps in order to remember them.

Tesla's Autopilot features have been under scrutiny in February when the National Transportation Safety Board said it's forward collision warning system did not provide an alert and its automatic emergency braking system did not activate as apple engineer and game developer Walter Huang's Model X SUV accelerated into a highway barrier.
