Sept. 17, 2021—General Motors on Wednesday gave Chevrolet Bolt owners further guidance on where to park their vehicles following a recall on all units.

According to a report from Reuters, GM is recommending Bolt owners parking in parking garages to do so on the top floor or on an open level and at least 50 feet away from other vehicles. The guidance comes as the automaker tries to fix a battery defect that has caused a small number of Bolt EV models to catch fire.

The guidance is the latest recommendation GM has made to Bolt owners. The manufacturer previously recommended drivers park outdoors and away from structures, to not charge overnight and to not leave units charging unattended.
