Sept. 17, 2021—Hyundai confirmed on Wednesday it will be delaying the launch of its Ioniq 5 in the U.S. by a few months.

A report from Electrek shows the automaker officially updated the launch window of its new electric vehicle from Fall 2022 to Winter 2022 on its website. No reason was given for the delay in the report.

The Ioniq 5 is already on sale in the European market. Hyundai has not announced U.S. pricing yet, though the report suggests it should be a "good competitor" to Ford's Mustang Mach-E and Tesla's Model Y, which are priced at $43,000 and $54,000, respectively.
