August 4, 2021—Stellantis announced on Tuesday it would be launching a fully electric Jeep during the first half of 2023.

The announcement comes as part of a larger report that further elaborated on the manufacturer's plans to invest $35.5 billion in EVs by 2025, according to The Detroit News. The announcement also included details about a plug-in hybrid Dodge offering that will be available next year.

Confirmation of the first BEV Jeep is no surprise after it said earlier it plans to offer a battery-powered EV in each of its segments by 2025. The announcement did not mention which model will become the BEV, nor did it specify in which regions the vehicle would be available.

Few additional details were provided about Dodge's planned hybrid.
