July 12, 2021—Stellantis announced Thursday it would begin production of a fully electric Ram model, as well as an unnamed muscle car, in 2024.

According to the Detroit Free Press, Ram brand CEO Mike Koval Jr. says the company has pledge to make sure the "class-shattering" Ram 1500 will surpass both Ford's and Chevy's current EV pickup offerings.

Dodge brand CEO says the company won't sell "electric cars" but rather "American muscle," adding that electric motors "can give us more" than what the company is currently able to get out of traditional internal-combustion engines.

The announcement comes on the heels of a presentation in which Stellantis revealed it will be investing an additional $35 billion into its EV developments through 2025.
