June 22, 2021Audi announced it will stop producing cars that use internal combustion engines, including hybrids, starting in 2026.

According to a report from Reuters, Audi is aggressively pursuing a plan that will make sure every vehicle in its lineup will be an EV within the next five years. Audi's EVs have been well-received by critics, according to a Kelley Blue Book report, though only four models are currently full EVs. Replacing the entire lineup of sedans, SUVs and sports cars is a tall task, though KBB predicts the company to roll out "a significant number of new Audi EVs in a short time."

Per KBB, none of Audi's competitors in Germany has announced an end date for the use of internal combustion engines.
