June 4, 2021—Lunaz, a U.K-based company that upcycles motor vehicles by converting them into EVs, announced yesterday it had landed a well-known investor.
David Beckham, the English footballer, alongside the Barclay, Reuben, and Dellal families, is investing in the company that modifies existing vehicles like Land Rovers and Jaguars by giving them electric powertrains, a press release says.
“Lunaz represents the very best of British ingenuity in both technology and design," Beckham says in the release. "I was drawn to the company through their work restoring some of the most beautiful classic cars through upcycling and electrification. David Lorenz and his team of world-class engineers are building something very special and I look forward to being part of their growth.”
